More than 270 enthusiastic youngsters at a primary school went on the run and had lots of fun as a colourful event was hailed a success.
Elm Tree Primary School pupils embarked on a colour run on Friday afternoon as they raised money for a worthy cause.
Multi-coloured mayhem transformed the grounds of the school on Ranworth Avenue, Lowestoft as funds were raised the charity WellChild.
And the smiles on the childrens' faces said it all as they walked, ran and jogged around the school field and had seven different coloured powders thrown at them.
With the school teachers acting as marshals at various points of the course, they threw the brightly coloured powder at the pupils - before there was a chance for the children to throw powder at the the teachers at the end of the event.
The colour run coincided with a special event this weekend - as Year 6 teacher at the school, Dan Smith, will be running the London Marathon for the charity this Sunday.
With the school making WellChild their charity of the year, numerous events - including a sponsored disco and sponsored bounce - have been held as pupils, staff and families have already raised around £6,000 for the national children's charity.
School headteacher Julia Halliday, said: "I have been overwhelmed with the response from the Elm Tree family to the events for the school’s charity, WellChild.
"We are all very proud of Mr Smith running the London Marathon and can’t wait to send him off in colourful style."
Mr Smith, 30, said: "This is my first marathon, and the response of the school, the Elm Tree community, well it's been massively overwhelming.
"My target was £1,600 for the charity, but it will go well above £6,000 today - which is incredible."
