A crime scene has been established after a large cannabis factory was found in a seaside town.

Suffolk Police discovered what they described as a "large cannabis factory" in Lowestoft yesterday. 

Works are being carried out in front of the shop by UK Power Network (Image: Submitted) The factory was found after officers obtained a warrant to search the empty business premises that once housed the Bargain Point corner shop in London Road North.

The shop was shut down by police last February after an operation uncovered illegal tobacco products were being sold. 

The shop was previously known as Bargain Point (Image: Google Maps) No one was present at the premises during the search.

An investigation is underway and officers remain at the scene conducting forensic examinations.
