A puppy that was stolen from her home has been reunited with her owner after 10 days. 

Bella the French bulldog was just 17 weeks old when she was taken from her home in Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, on July 19.

Police confirmed her disappearance was being treated as a crime and officers used drones in their search for her.

Volunteers from an organisation called Doglost also coordinated a community search.

After a hectic and emotional period, the police and Bella's Doglost admin team have confirmed the pup was reunited with her owner on Monday.

A spokeswoman from the team said: "Bella is home thankfully safe and sound.

"Important information has been given to the police and Bella's files have been updated.

"This is still a live investigation so obviously we are limited as to what we can say at this time - but we want to stress how grateful we all are for all the help and support given by everyone involved.

"Bella was lucky - dog theft is very cruel and is heartbreaking for the affected owners.

"Bella's owner stated that the support from her admin team, the local community and the wider public kept her going with the hope she would see Bella home safely.

"Never will she let her out of her sight again."

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
