The leader of Suffolk County Council has shared his excitement ahead of Princess Anne's trip to Lowestoft next month to officially open its third crossing.
The Princess Royal will officially open the town's new Gull Wing Bridge on Tuesday, November 19.
She is also scheduled to visit The Suffolk Punch Trust at Sink Farm in Hollesley and Peter O'Sullevan House in Newmarket on the same day.
Council leader Matthew Hicks has spoken of his excitement at the Lowestoft royal visit and said the bridge had been a congestion-busting success.
He said: “We are honoured that Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will come to Suffolk to officially open The Gull Wing Bridge, marking an historic occasion in Lowestoft’s history.

“The Gull Wing is a truly impressive and significant piece of engineering.
"Since it opened to the public last month, it has been fantastic to hear so many people tell us how the bridge has reduced traffic congestion and made travelling around Lowestoft easier.
“I look forward to welcoming The Princess Royal alongside everyone else who, over the years, helped to make this bridge possible.”
Princess Anne last planned to visit Suffolk in February but had to cancel after her helicopter suffered a fault.
