The wait is almost over for Lowestoft's double Olympian Charley Davison.
After many gruelling months of training, preparation and hard work, the 30-year-old mother of three from Lowestoft will soon be in action for Team GB's boxers at Paris 2024.
As the 2024 Summer Olympics is held from July 26 to August 11, action in the preliminary round of 32 in the women's bantamweight – 54kg - division is due to start this Saturday afternoon and evening.
As it stands, the draw is still to be made - however, Davison and her GB teammates "have now moved to the Olympic Village and are one step closer to their Paris 2024 journey getting under way," according to GB Boxing.
After a change of weight division, Davison - the Triple A Boxing Club member from Lowestoft - will represent Team GB once more at an Olympic Games.
And admitting that she is "feeling confident" as she heads into the Paris Games, this will be Davison’s second Games after she competed in the flyweight division at Tokyo 2020.
Davison - along with Rosie Eccles, Chantelle Reid, Lewis Richardson, Pat Brown and Delicious Orie - are the six boxers that will represent Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
A total of 249 athletes - 125 male and 124 female - will compete in boxing at Olympic Games Paris 2024, with bouts running from July 27 until August 10.
The Paris 2024 boxing tournament will be hosted at the famous Roland-Garros Stadium and the North Paris Arena at Villepinte.
Ahead of the action getting under way, Davison said: "Tokyo was a great experience but qualifying for a second time means a little bit more to me.
"I am much more experienced boxer now and I know what to expect at an Olympics, so I am going into the Games feeling confident."
