I met Mickie on our fist day at college outside the dining. Mickie was flying down the corridor room waving a coat that she had taken by mistake. It was mine. I had just noticed it was missing. My room mate Jill and I were swept up in a tornado of hilarious apology and the outrageous fun never stopped. Thank you Mickie . Shortly after that we found Mickey was a woman of substance on our first visit to a dance at an American airbase. Mickie ignored the advice of the obligatory chaperone and danced with a ( very handsome) African American. That night Mickie was crowned Wethersfield’s Beauty Queen. Her beloved Des and mother accompanied her to the pageant. Mickie was only with us for two years as she transferred to Norwich when she and her beloved Des married. Mickie sent lovely hand written letters full of news of her adored family every Christmas. I know she has left so much last ve behind. Mickie’s was a life well lived and loved. Our condolences to you all xx
