Santa Claus is coming to town this Christmas with a new show set to hit the east coast.

Two Suffolk theatres are set to welcome Saint Nick for a 'Santamime' in the days before Christmas.

Audience members will be transported to Santa's workshop at the North Pole where they will be lucky enough to go behind the scenes and see what it takes to make the magic of Christmas come alive.

Lowestoft Journal:

The mini-tour will feature performances at Lowestoft's Players Theatre and Southwold Arts Centre.

The show's producer Gavin Dean said: "We’ve been working on this show for a very long time.

"It’s a great way for children and families to create core memories together.

"There’s no doubt that Santa is the biggest star out there, so it's a great opportunity not only to see him in his very show but also to meet him in person after.

"We describe it as a Santamime, it’s got all of the best bits of panto put together with the magic that only Santa Claus can bring."

Mr Dean adds the family-friendly show is for all ages, young and old.

He said: "We’ve got jokes for everyone.

"You would have to be the biggest Grinch to leave the theatre without a smile on your face, no matter what your age."

Visitors will be guided through the experience by Mrs Tinsel, and it will feature festive fanatics Jingle and Jangle, workshop inventor Sparky, and everyone's favourite reindeer Rudolph.

Tickets, priced at £12, include the live show, meet and greet, Santa selfie and a free gift with every child ticket purchased.

Santa's Christmas Show will be at the Players Theatre in Lowestoft between December 18-20.

Performances will then take place at Southwold Arts Centre between December 22-24.
