A festive show that is aiming to spread a little cheer will be staged from next week.
Aptly titled 'We Need a Little Christmas' the latest seasonal production from The Lowestoft Players will be showcased.
Maurice Garrod, assistant director for the production, said: "Even though times are difficult, everyone still loves Christmas.
"We’ve managed to squeeze this extra show into our busy calendar of events at the Players Theatre in the hope that it will bring a little pre-Christmas festive cheer."
Mr Garrod, a member of the Lowestoft Players for 35 years, is assisting Jimmy Aitkin, who is directing the show.
Jimmy is fresh from the stage as Dick in the Players’ production of 9 to 5 The Musical.
He also played Dame Julie Jubilee earlier in the year in the Player’s spring pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.
Mr Garrod’s wife, Steph - a big lover of all things Christmas - is also assisting with the production.
She said: "Our pantomime for 2023 is Snow White, but that’s not until January which is a few weeks away.
"I just couldn’t wait until then!"
With a cast of 15 very talented members from The Lowestoft Players, We Need a Little Christmas will be performed cabaret style and feature dance, comedy, musical numbers from the West End plus many festive favourites.
It will run from Wednesday, December 7 to Sunday, December 11 and includes two afternoon matinees.
Suitable for all ages, tickets are priced from just £10. They are available from the Players Theatre Box Office www.playerstheatre.info or by phoning 01502 770020.
All proceeds from this production will be used to help fund the upkeep of the Players Theatre, the iconic building was built 1899 and sits in the centre of Lowestoft.
It has been in the ownership of the Lowestoft Players since 2009.
Catherine Oldman is providing musical direction for this show, Bethany Freeman Choreography, and Hazel Cole costumes.
