Hopes have been dashed that a crumbling building will be given a new lease of life as part of a BBC show after it confirmed it will no longer be taking place.
DIY SOS had circulated posters asking for volunteers to help presenter Nick Knowles and his team with a big build project in Lowestoft this summer.
It was proposed that the old rundown fire station in Clifton Road would be transformed into a performing arts school but this will no longer happen.
A BBC spokesperson said: “For editorial reasons, we couldn’t make the build work at this time.”
The show would have followed the story of the husband-and-wife-run project that began when their son, who was born with Down's syndrome, had nowhere suitable to go when he left school.

The family has since been struck by tragedy when both husband and son died within four months of each other.
Despite the family's grief, and the mum's recent cancer diagnosis, they "continue to pour love into the incredible community they have built".
Filming was due to take place from July 5 to 11.
