One of the biggest meteor showers of the year is peaking this weekend.
The Perseids shower is active from July 17 until August 24 and peaks on August 12 and August 13.
There will be up to 100 meteors an hour which will be bright and fast with trains and a chance of fireballs.
Perseids is associated with the 109P/Swift-Tuttle comet.
Meteor showers occur when particles of comet debris enter our atmosphere and burn up, appearing as shooting stars.

If you lay down or sit to watch the shower, ensure your feet are facing north for the best view between midnight and the early hours.
The meteors' radiant, the point in the sky from which they appear, is the constellations of Cassiopeia and Perseus.
With the new moon meaning conditions are favourable, make sure to turn off phones and torches 15 minutes before to allow your eyes to adjust.
