Concerns over the state of badly faded white lines on a seafront road close to a community gate have sparked calls for action.
For the past couple of months a group of residents of St Mary's Court on Rectory Road in Kirkley, Lowestoft have raised concerns over the "disgusting" deteriorating state of the white lines near their home.
After first reporting the issue to Suffolk Highways in early August, they claimed the "problem has got worse" over recent weeks.
Amid fears that the wintry weather will exacerbate the problem, one of the residents claimed they've been waiting weeks for answers and for the problem to be fixed.
Visually impaired teen Ryan Dabdoub reported the situation online to Suffolk County Council on August 3.
The 18-year-old said: "We have a white line outside of our community gate along the seafront in south Lowestoft, and it is fading very badly indeed.
"It has been fading for a very long time and has got worse over the past five months.
"What I am worried about is as we approach winter the white line will most certainly get a lot worse than it currently is.
"I thought someone from Suffolk County Council would come and check on the condition or the state that the lines are in, but I have not seen anyone or heard anything - I am absolutely disgusted by this.
"I have not heard a date or a time of when they are going to come and fix this problem along our seafront road - and with my other St Mary's Court residents we think this is an absolute disgrace.
"What we don’t want is cars or vans blocking the exit out of the gate, because if that did happen we would have to call the police every time someone parks there."
There was some good news for the residents this week, as a spokesman for Suffolk Highways told this newspaper: "The customer has been updated via email and the lines are due to be refreshed in the coming weeks."
