Two plots of land not far away far from a holiday park have been sold at auction.
The plots of land, totalling five acres, in Kessingland, near Lowestoft, sold for almost double the price they were expected to fetch.
The "broadly square parcels of land" off London Road in Kessingland were offered for sale at an online auction.
Marketed by Auction House East Anglia, and described as "land for sale", the plots were sold on a freehold tenure at an online auction.
The property description from the auctioneers stated: "Five acres (stms - subject to measured survey) of strategic accommodation land with hope value.
"This lot comprises of two broadly square parcels of land located close to the roundabout junction of the main A12 dual carriageway and the B1437 London Road."
With "2.8 acres of land sandwiched between the A12 and London Road", the "other 2.2 acres" is described as fronting the A12.
It added: "The land is opposite a holiday park and the boundaries to the A12 dual carriageway are bordered by mature trees and hedges giving good screening from the road.
"Access is only via London Road which provides good visibility.
"The land was previously cropped and is sold with vacant possession, on instruction of Trustees."
The auctioneers said: "The land is being sold subject to an overage in the event of future development.
"The overage will be 50 per cent of any uplift in value created by a planning consent for alternative use or development, and will be for a period of 25 years."
Described as having "development potential, subject to planning permission," the "vacant" land had a guide price of £35,000 plus fees as it went under the hammer.
A spokesman for Auction House East Anglia said: "On behalf of a church trust, five acres of land off London Road in Kessingland sold for £61,000."
