A drug dealer who was sentenced to two years in prison has been ordered to pay back more than £58,000.
Nathaniel Baldry, 25, formerly of St John's Road in Lowestoft, was given a 46-month custodial sentence last March after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm without intent, possessing criminal property and being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class B drug.
Ipswich Crown Court heard how Baldry was on a night out in Bristol with university friends in February last year when he carried out a “completely unprovoked” attack.
Suffolk Constabulary started investigating Baldry in November 2022 after a warrant was executed at his home in St John's Road in Lowestoft.
Items including mobile phones and more than £30,000 in cash hidden in a rucksack in a wardrobe were seized.
On December 20, Baldry was ordered to pay back £58,758.56 at a Proceedings of Crime Act (POCA) confiscation hearing at Ipswich Crown Court.
He was ordered to pay this sum within three months or face a default sentence of 18 months imprisonment should it not be paid.
Sergeant Laura Deal said: "We work tirelessly to hit those who engage in the supply of drugs and strip them of the wealth they have derived from their illicit activities."
