Police believe a 45-year-old man who is missing from Lowestoft could be in the Merseyside area.
Matthew Coxon was reported missing late Sunday evening after he failed to return home.
He was last seen at around 6.30pm with the search promptly beginning just after midnight.
Police in Suffolk now believe that Matthew has left East Anglia.
A spokesman said: "Police enquiries now prompt us to believe missing person Matthew Coxon is in the Liverpool area."
On Monday, a large-scale search involving HM Coastguard crews, RNLI Lifeboats and a search and rescue helicopter searched areas between Lowestoft and Gorleston.
The helicopter was seen searching areas over the coast until 10am on Monday and the teams were assisted by Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue in areas around Gunton.
Anyone who may have seen Matthew or has any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the duty sergeant at Lowestoft Police Station on 101.
