A woman is fighting a council's refusal of her bid to open a beauty salon.

Lisa Leech wants to convert a garden room at Tally House, a large dwelling on Hall Road in Hopton.

The application is on behalf of her 21-year-old daughter, Rhianne.

In February, planners at Great Yarmouth Borough Council rejected the plans.

They said the location was "remote", distant to public transport and without pedestrian routes.

The proposed site is approximately 2.5 miles from the village centre.

A previous application, made in October last year, was refused on the same grounds.

Ms Leech has now taken her fight to the Planning Inspectorate, a government agency which can overturn decisions where it thinks councils have gone against planning law.

Previously, Rhianne said that owning a salon was her "passion and long-term goal".

According to the plans, the salon would be operated by one employee who would meet clients on a one-to-one basis, with only one client attending at any time.

It was expected no more than four to five clients would visit the site per day.
