A leading travel agency chain has opened a new shop in Lowestoft.

TUI has launched its new store inside Next in the North Quay Retail Park.

The new location is part of TUI's strategy to boost its retail presence by opening spots in Next outlets across the country and running its standalone stores.

The Lowestoft office will employ seven full-time members of staff.

It contains several desks and booths for customer consultations and offers a foreign exchange service.

Joanne Eccleston, the regional sales manager, said: “We were so excited to see the first customers come through the doors when we officially opened and there has been such a buzz in the air since.

"People are genuinely delighted that TUI is back in Lowestoft as part of this new chapter with Next and we can’t wait to welcome even more customers in the coming weeks."

She added a lot of customers had been enquiring about cruises and summer package holidays.

"It’s really satisfying to share our expertise and help customers learn about all these amazing places and travel opportunities."

TUI currently has 325 branches nationwide and the Lowestoft store will be open seven days a week.
