Thunderstorms and heavy showers are expected to strike Suffolk this afternoon.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning in response to the wet weather that has been forecast between 12pm and midnight on Tuesday.

The warning has been issued for the whole of the county.

Travel could be affected, as driving conditions might worsen with the spray from other cars and potential hail that might fall.

Flooding to a few homes and businesses is also possible, as well as building damage from lightning strikes.

The Met Office says that it is safer not to drive during thunderstorms, but asks that those who have to drive slow down, use main roads, turn on their dipped headlights, and leave a larger gap between the car in front.
