A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a stolen car was stopped by police more than 40 miles from where it was taken.

A white Ford Fiesta was stolen from an address in Wilberforce Street, Ipswich on May 18 in the early morning hours.

Five days later, on May 23, the car was located and stopped by officers in Lowestoft - more than forty miles down the A12 from where it was taken.

The car was eventually stopped after the driver had initially failed to do so and then two people were arrested and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.

The first, a 25-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, driving with excess drugs, possession of Class B or C drugs and failing to stop when directed.
