The owner of a sweet treat firm has been left "shaken up" and suffering from nightmares after her trailer was broken into and damaged.

Molly Davison launched MOO's Cakes during the pandemic and secured a permanent spot in her pink trailer at Walton's Garage in Mobbs Way, Lowestoft, earlier this year.

But on the night of June 16 into June 17, the vehicle - which she affectionately calls Betty - was broken into.

The door was damaged, the costly custom-made windows were smashed and a petrol generator was stolen.

"These people don’t realise that targeting small businesses like mine has a detrimental effect - not only on the business but on the business owners' mental health," Ms Davison said.

"I’m so shaken up by all of this and even had a nightmare last night just because I’m worrying and stressing about it all."

She added the financial strain is the root of much of her concern.

"It's such a massive cost that I am now going to have to try to find money for which I don’t have lying about.

"I have events coming up in my trailer and currently I won’t be able to attend until it is fixed, meaning I am going to be losing more money.

"I am so upset by all of this - it really has knocked me for six."

To help ease the impact of the break-in, Ms Davison has launched a GoFundMe page with a target of £800, currently sitting at £425.

Suffolk Constabulary has confirmed an investigation is under way.
