Lowestoft’s past is the backdrop of a new historical novel called Silver Harvest by author Daryl Fraser.
The book covers the town's development from 1826 to 1956, using a fictional family to illustrate the community's changes.
Readers will follow the Chapmans’ trials and tribulations within the rise of the town.
Mr Fraser is from Lowestoft, and his debut novel is published by Norwich publisher, Story Machine.
He decided to write about his hometown for its history.

"Lowestoft has a fascinating history," He said.
"How does a small town on top of a cliff, with no harbour or tourist industry, become one of the premier seaside resorts and ports along the east coast?
"It was a story that needed to be dramatised."
He also has a deep curiosity on how ordinary people dealt with such transformations.
Mr Fraser said: "The pace and scale of change really fascinated me.
"It made me wonder how ordinary people coped.
"The Chapmans’ experiences reflect the changes in the fortunes of the community."
Those interested can attend the launch at Waterstones, Lowestoft, on September 5 at 6.30pm.
