A former James Paget doctor who attempted to force himself on a colleague during a trip to the beach has seen his medical suspension extended.
Pawan Rawat was suspended from medical practice following a tribunal held earlier this year.
It centred around an incident in which Dr Pawat had taken a junior colleague, referred to as Ms A, on a day trip to Lowestoft beach.
During the trip, the doctor pulled the woman towards him while they were in his car and kissed her, leaving her feeling "trapped and intimidated".
The women lodged a formal complaint against Dr Rawat which resulted in a medical practitioners tribunal.
Following this hearing, Dr Rawat's registration was suspended for three months.
The suspension was due to expire in August, but has now been extended for a further three months.
A panel ruled the doctor had not provided enough evidence to prove he had reflected on the incident.
In a statement given to the tribunal, Dr Rawat said: "I express my sincerest apologies and feel sorry for Ms A about the impact this had on her personal and professional life.
"She is an upcoming medical professional and I wish her good luck and may God bless her in all her future professional and personal endeavours."
He added that he had been regularly reading medical journals and listening to podcasts to keep his clinical knowledge up to date and had sought guidance from senior colleagues following the incident, which took place five years ago.
But the tribunal panel ruled he had not provided sufficient written evidence of these claims.
Once the further three months have lapsed, another hearing will be held to determine whether Dr Rawat can return to practice.
The James Paget previously confirmed that he no longer works for the trust.
